M+W Group expanding capabilities in Ireland with new office opening in Maynooth, Co. Kildare

Celebrating 100 years of business with new office opening and demonstration of company’s increased presence in key growth markets

The international engineering and construction company M+W Group is marking 100 years in business with the opening of its new office in Kildare, Ireland. The office is part of the company’s continued expansion and increases its capability in key growth markets in support of its global clients. With this expansion, M+W Group will further enhance its world leading capabilities in the design and construction of Life Science, Electronics and High-Tech facilities.

The opening of the M+W Group’s new Irish office in Maynooth will not only further enhance their capabilities to service clients in both Ireland and Western Europe but also develop closer links with the high-tech global firms who need new, complex, manufacturing and R&D facilties delivered in very short timescales. M+W Group’s ability to Design and Build advanced technology, fast-track projects provides customers with the all-important improved “time-to-market” for their product; which has been a distinguishing factor of the M+W Group throughout its proud history. The office in Maynooth will also provide high-tech engineering services to M+W Group projects around the globe.

The venture by M+W Group is supported by the Irish Government via IDA Ireland. Barry O’Leary, CEO of IDA Ireland said, “We are delighted that M+W Group has decided to locate an office providing world class design and engineering excellence here in Ireland, particularly with M+W Group’s expertise in the high-tech sectors such as Electronics and Life Sciences. I look forward to working closely with M+W Group as it develops its Irish operations.”

Local Fine Gael TD, Anthony Lawlor, also warmly welcomes the announcement that the M+W Group is opening its office in Maynooth. “I am delighted that the M+W Group have recognised the wonderful engineering talent pool available, not only in Kildare through the excellent Engineering Faculty at NUI Maynooth, but also in the wider Irish market”.

As well, Richard Bruton TD, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, said “M+W Group is an EPC contractor that has been working closely with many of the worlds top electronics and life science firms. The announcement that they are expanding their capability in Ireland is very welcome.”

We have just started our engineering graduate placement program where young Irish engineers will work within both our Process Automation Group and our Engineering and Construction Group” Peter added.

NOTE: Maynooth (www.maynooth.ie) is a University town with a strong engineering tradition. Prof Nicholas Callan (1799 – 1864) developed the world’s first induction coil in NUI Maynooth in 1836. This was the breakthrough on which electrical engineering was built.
