M+W Group awarded major contract for new Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility of Angstrem-T JSC, Russian Federation
The global engineering and construction company M+W Group has received a major contract from Angstrem-T JSC for the upgrade and extension of a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Zelenograd, in close proximity to Moscow, Russia. The company will act as general designer of the building and facilities. In addition M+W Group will be the general contractor for mechanical, electrical and process facilities’ systems (MEP) including the responsibility for the design/build of the installations within the existing fab building and extensions. This project is the successful continuation of a decade-long collaboration between M+W Group and Angstrem-T which began as early as the late 1980’s.
The new facility will consist of a 7,000-sqm cleanroom manufacturing area including manufacturing support areas and an office complex. An Energy Supply Center, which will be part of the project scope, shall supply the fab buildings with electricity as well as hot and chilled water. M+W Group started works in August 2012. The facilities will be completed and ready for production start at the end of May 2014. M+W Group’s subsidiary M+W Germany is executing the project in collaboration with the Russian subsidiary M+W High Tech Projects based in Moscow.
The Angstrem-T fab is a milestone project in Russia’s semiconductor agenda and grants M+W Group access to future high-tech investment projects on the Russian market.
