M+W Group at InterSolar 2010: Increasing the competitiveness of photovoltaic plants and solar parks
New inverter generates more electrical energy
The engineering and construction company, M+W Group (until 2009: M+W Zander) will present solutions for the solar value-chain to visitors of the InterSolar exhibition in Munich between 9th and 11th June 2010. The areas covered on the exhibition booth no. 110 in Hall B3 will focus on improved competitiveness for photovoltaic plants, solar parks and solar thermal power plants. Additionally, experts from M+W Group will provide information about current trends at specialist fora on 9th and 10th June. A talk at the Innovation Exchange (booth 150 in Hall C3) that starts at 11:15 will present the benefits of a new central inverter. A further expert will describe the opportunities of improved competitiveness for the manufacture of PV cells and modules in his talk at 14:00 on 10th June on booth 168, in Hall B3 (Technology Arena).
The M+W Group has developed a new photovoltaic central inverter in conjunction with a German-based manufacturer. The device offers particularly high flexibility by interconnecting the modules, thereby preventing any unnecessary loss of energy on the d.c. side. A varying number of modules can also be connected per string and different module technologies can be used without negative mismatch effects. In this way, the new central inverter is able to supply up to two per cent more electrical energy to the grid than conventional devices. Technical details about this innovation can be obtained at M+W Group’s booth and at the talk at 11.15 am on 9th June at the Innovation Exchange in Hall C3.
In partnership to construct silicon plants
As a partner to Schmid Silicon Technology Holding (SSTH/www.schmid-silicon.com), M+W Group offers its customers solutions for design and constructing silicon plants worldwide based on SSTH’s monosilane technology (InterSolar booth B3.310 / www.schmid-silicon.com). M+W Group is among the global market leaders for design and constructing energy and cost-effective plants to manufacture ultra-thin modules and crystalline ingots, wafers, cells and modules. Since its entry into the market in 2000, the company has designed and constructed PV plants worldwide with a total capacity of around 7.7 gigawatts.
