M+W Group at Hannover Messe 2011 to feature solutions for lithium-ion battery plants, as well as for the stabilization of sensitive process flows
– Booths in halls 6 and 25 – Presentation about quality and cost optimization in the field of battery manufacturing
The international engineering and construction company M+W Group will have two booths at the upcoming Hannover Messe. Booth L10 in hall 25 will feature M+W Group’s solutions for competitive mass production of lithium ion batteries, while booth K32 in hall 6 will center around the latest technologies in the fields of particle weighing and precision climate-control, as well as the company’s know-how in the field of controlled environments and chemical analyses.
Planning and construction of lithium-ion battery plants
The M+W Group has been developing, planning and commissioning lithium-ion battery factories on behalf of international OEMs and battery makers since 2008. The company is committed to significantly cutting the costs associated with manufacturing lithium-ion batteries while ensuring highquality production. To this end, the M+W Group has developed a concept for cost-effective, competitive volume production in a modular plant where the various production steps are housed under the same roof.
These production steps mainly comprise the following: Slurry prepraration for electrodes, anode and cathode coating, electrode and separator assembly, and electrolyte filling, followed by electrical formation and conditioned storage in the factory. Several of these steps require very low humidity, constant temperatures and special fire safety measures.
Presentation: Quality and cost optimization in the field of battery manufacturing
On 6 April at 10 a.m. at the Forum in hall 25 booth K13, an M+W Group expert will be giving a presentation about quality and cost optimization in the field of battery manufacturing, at which M+W Group’s concept for competitive mass production of lithium ion batteries will be described.
Stabilization of extremely complex process flows
M+W Group’s booth in hall 6 (K32) will be presenting the latest applications for the following: Particle weighing in the microgram range; ultra-precise air and water climatization; particle filtration; and trace element analyses for solid and gaseous media. These technologies are used for highly sensitive production processes in sectors such as the following: the automotive industry; battery manufacturing; the food, pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology industries; Research & Development.
The solutions M+W has developed allow for analysis and control of ambient conditions for a host of production processes, so that the temperature of gases (usually air) and liquids can be regulated down to a few millikelvins. These solutions also allow for detection and filtering of ambient contamination down to a particle size of 50 nanometers and less. The regenerative filter systems used for this process are sustainably reusable.
