M+W Group and Total Facility Solutions Hold 8th Annual Tech Valley Charity Golf Tournament to Benefit MAKE-A-WISH® and other local charities
19 July 2016
Nearly $1.2M has been raised in the past 8 years by M+W Group and Total Facility Solutions, Inc. for Make-A-Wish® Northeast New York/USA and other Capital Region charities.
The 8th Annual Tech Valley Charity Golf Tournament will be held July 20th at the Saratoga National Golf Club, Saratoga Springs, NY/USA. Golfers will enjoy the morning and afternoon flights, and an evening reception with presentations from past wish recipients and their families. Proceeds from the event will benefit the local Make-A-Wish chapter’s wish granting program and other local charities.
Last year over $175,000 was raised to help make wishes come true for Capital Region children. Proceeds from the tournament have gone to Make-A-Wish (Major Charity), The Children’s Museum of Science and Engineering, Juvenile Diabetes (Tour de Cure), American Cancer Association, American Heart Association, Epilepsy Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Capital Region Food Bank (CANstruction) and other regional children’s and veteran’s charities.
Ron Oakley, CEO of M+W Americas stated, “M+W Group is extremely proud to announce that our 8th Annual Tech Valley Charity Golf Tournament sold out in record time this year. In the past 8 years, the M+W U.S. Charitable Foundation has raised nearly $1.2 Million, assisting charities like Make-A-Wish to carry out their great work. In many ways, this has been the most important work we have done here as it has allowed us to give back to the Capital Region community.”
William C. Trigg, III, CEO of Make-A-Wish Northeast New York, said that support from the annual Tech Valley Golf Tournament has been key in helping the organization fulfill its mission. He said, “We are deeply grateful to the organizers and supporters of this outstanding event for their commitment. They are valued partners in helping us to grant wishes for local children with life-threatening medical conditions.” He added “The event’s ongoing support will enable us to make even more amazing and life-affirming wishes come true for deserving children.”
On average, granting an individual wish costs $10,000 and can include the chance for children to meet someone famous, try their hand at a profession or travel to a place they have never seen before.
