Management change in the M+W Group

As of 31 December 2013, a change of management is due to take place at the international engineering and construction company, M+W Group. After six years as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Jürgen Wild will be leaving the company upon expiry of his contract at the end of this year. As of 1 January 2014, the new CEO of the M+W Group will be Dr. Olaf Berlien. At the same time, the management team will be expanded at the turn of the year to include the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). From 1 January, this assignment will be taken over by Dr. Herbert Demel. Dr. Hannes Rosenthaler will continue to be responsible for the finance department as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

“I would like to thank Mr. Wild for successfully steering the M+W Group through six years of change. Under his management, the M+W Group has achieved strong growth, establishing itself as a high-performance global EPC player,” commented Georg Stumpf, Supervisory Board Chairman of the M+W Group in response to Jürgen Wild´s departure.

Dr. Olaf Berlien has headed the Technologies Division at ThyssenKrupp AG in Essen and as a member of its Executive Board, he was responsible for the elevator, plant engineering, marine systems and automotive sectors. While holding this position, Dr. Berlien developed the Technologies Division to become ThyssenKrupp AG´s most successful field of operation, ultimately contributing revenue of 18 billion euros and earnings of 1.8 billion euros.

Dr. Herbert Demel last held the position of Chief Strategy Officer at Magna International, one of the world´s largest automotive component suppliers. Prior to this, he was, among others, CEO of Audi AG in Ingolstadt and also CEO and President of Volkswagen do Brasil in Sao Paulo.
