Change of management in the M+W Group: Dr. Herbert Demel new Chairman of the Executive Board
Present Chairman Dr. Olaf Berlien to take over responsibilities outside the Group
A changeover is about to take place on the Executive Board of the M+W Group in Stuttgart. Dr. Herbert Demel (62), currently the Group´s COO (Chief Operating Officer), is to take over as Chairman of the Executive Board with effect from November 10, 2014. The present Executive Board Chairman, Dr. Olaf Berlien, will be retiring from the Executive Board by way of amicable agreement and taking over responsibilities outside the M+W Group.
Dr. Herbert Demel, COO of the M+W Group since 1 January 2014, previously worked for the Canadian automotive supplier Magna International Inc., most recently as the group´s Chief Strategy Officer. Originating from Vienna, he has, in the course of his career, held management positions at Bosch, as CEO at Audi AG, as CEO of Volkswagen do Brasil in Sao Paulo and as CEO at Fiat Auto.
