Operational scenarios for regenerative energies and solutions for semiconductor manufacturing are the focus of the M+W Zander exhibition booth (Hall A1, Booth 252) at the Semicon Europa trade show in Munich. The exhibition is being held from April 4 to 6, 2006 and it is the biggest European exhibition for the microelectronic and photovoltaic industry. M+W Zander is one of the global market leaders in the planning and construction of turnkey semiconductor factories. It has also become established as a partner for the solar wafer manufacturers. At Semicon Europa, the company announced the formation of an alliance that will supply turnkey solar-wafer fabs and process equipment from one source.
M+W Zander uses a visionary factory model at the trade show to demonstrate the options for making savings by using regenerative energies in combination with advanced distribution systems for cooling and heating. Solar modules are installed on the roof of the Plexiglas model. Foundation piles in the ground enable geothermal energy to be used. At the same time, heating and cooling installations in the buildings are used to enable the factory to save as much energy as possible.
"We want to use this model of a ‘Future-Fab’ to push on the debate on energy efficiency," comments Christoph Hornek, Managing Director of M+W Zander FE GmbH, a company in the M+W Zander Group. "The production of semiconductors and solar wafers is very energy-intensive. Using regenerative energies can reduce costly peak loads and hence bring down operating costs."
M+W Zander also announced the formation of an alliance at Semicon Europa. This will deliver integrated solutions for solar wafer production, providing process technology and fab concepts from a single source. The proven technology partners are the companies Meyer Burger, PVA TePla and Gebrüder Schmid (see press release "Tailormade Turnkey-Solutions for Solar Wafer Manufacturing").
For semiconductor manufacturers M+W Zander presents itself as a reliable partner for time-to-target delivery of turnkey projects at Semicon Europa. This includes completely new factories as well as modernization of existing plants.
The M+W Zander booth will provide visitors from research institutes with information about fast technology transfer. M+W Zander is a reliable partner for the implementation of product innovations in commercial business processes.
